KATO CES at AED Career Awareness Day 2023: A Proud Moment of Collaboration and Vision
KATO CES is thrilled to share our recent participation in the AED Career Awareness Day held at Elizabethtown Community & Technical College. This event, organized by The AED Foundation, was a monumental step in addressing the growing workforce shortage in the equipment and manufacturing sector.
A Glimpse into the Event
The AED Career Awareness Day took place on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s Occupational Technical Building 300. The event saw the participation of over 300 students from local schools, eager to delve into the college’s accredited equipment programs. The day was filled with hands-on learning experiences with heavy machinery, networking opportunities with top recruiters, including those from KATO CES, and other engaging activities like a special raffle.

Vision 2025: AED’s Ambitious Endeavor
This event was not just a day of learning and networking; it marked a significant milestone in AED’s broader Vision 2025 Campaign. The campaign aims to address the skills gap and workforce shortage in the equipment distribution sector. Some of the key objectives of Vision 2025 include:
- Establishing a minimum of 120 accredited college programs (currently 71)
- Recognizing a minimum of 200 high school programs (currently 36)
- Cultivating a talent pipeline with over 10,000 skilled technicians and 5,000 AEDF certified technicians
- Uplifting 500 AEDF certified managers
To achieve these transformative goals, the Vision 2025 Campaign has set a target to raise $10 million over the next five years. These funds will be directed towards accrediting college programs, recognizing high school programs, implementing workforce development strategies, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Vision 2025.
KATO CES: Honored to be a Part
At KATO CES, we are immensely proud to have been a part of this initiative. Collaborating with local dealers and service providers, we believe in the mission of The AED Foundation and its commitment to revitalizing the industry. The Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Career Awareness Day was a testament to the collective efforts of all stakeholders in making Vision 2025 a reality.
We extend our gratitude to The AED Foundation for organizing such a meaningful event and to all the participants who made it a success. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter future in the equipment distribution industry!
