In 1960, his son Harry Glenn Stewart Sr. took over the business.  They were one of few businesses in the area that carried such surplus items and continued for the next several years.

In 1973, Harry Sr. saw the demand from some contractors that needed air compressors to use on some local jobsites.  He purchased a couple of air compressors and started Stewart Equipment.  With the help of his brother David Stewart, they continued to grow the business and adapting to the needs of the local industry. We are constantly buying new equipment to keep up with the high demand of economic growth in Eastern North Carolina.

Today, Stewart Equipment Company continues the mold of family owned businesses with the principle owners including Harry Stewart Jr. and Brian Stewart. We strive to offer great products with excellent service and continue the family tradition.
